Almost 30 years ago, we had the great pleasure to get to know Robert Force and Al d'Ossché, two gifted and innovative dulcimer builders and players. They asked if we would build a dulcimer based on a synthesis of their two instrument designs and offer it to the dulcimer world. We were honored to have been asked and the four of us came up with the Force-d'Ossché Six String Dulcimer.

To commemerate this friendship and the past three decades of building this instrument, we are pleased to offer this one-of-a-kind F-d'O Special dulcimer.

The back and sides are of highly figured curly maple from a board we hand selected and resawed over 30 years ago; the top is premium spruce which has been air drying in our shop for over 28 years. The instrument offers the standard F-d'O features—the ƒ-heart soundholes, overhanging "fiddle-style" edge, black/white/black purfling on the top, and guitar style peghead.

The dulcimer comes with a custom-fitted hardshell case.

• Ebony fretboard and peghead overlay
• Tree of life inlay in fretboard and peghead
• Gold Schaller mini tuning machines
• Bone nut and saddle
