Blue Lion's "Shipping Department" will be closed from March 2 -10 while the shipping department (aka Janita) is at the Buckeye Dulcimer Festival back in Ohio. If you need to place an order for accessories please try to do so before the afternoon of 3/2 or be prepared to wait until after the 10th for it to be shipped. You can still order instruments if you can get hold of Robert, but he may not be able to answer the phone or emails during this time – he's usually got his hands full taking care of everything!
We are all sold out of instruments at this time; we have several models in process which have not yet been spoken for and we are hoping to have them finished sometime in March (see next paragraph).
TO OUR CUSTOMERS WITH INSTRUMENTS ON ORDER:
We had a major piece of machinery break down and we are waiting for parts; as such we are running about two weeks behind in our production schedule. We will do our best to get your dulcimer completed as soon as possible, but be advised that it is going to take longer than we estimated at the time of your order.
NEW PRICES FOR 2015
We've absorbed a lot of price increases for both materials and shipping over the past several years in an effort to keep our instruments affordable but it's finally gotten to the point where, reluctantly, we have to make some adjustments.
Prices will be going up on some models effective 1/1/15 (click on Current Price List for pdf) and we are no longer able to offer a flat shipping rate for instruments.
SHIPPING COST INCREASE
UPS has begun to start charging by "dimensional weight" (the size of the package) when it is more than the actual weight of a package so our shipping costs are going to increase across the board. In order to make this as fair as possible we are going to begin charging what UPS charges us which will vary by zone. We'll still be paying for the packaging, insurance and myriad delivery surcharges so you will still be paying less than the actual cost to ship.
OUR WOOD SOURCES
Articles are appearing in the media concerning the illegal harvesting and use of East Indian Rosewood and othe exotic hardwood species. We buy all of our rosewood through a licensed importer; and as with all of the woods we use at Blue Lion, our rosewood is CITES certified and legally imported.
